Christian Dior perfume - a name that inspires luxury, refinement and fashion.

Designer Christian Dior was said to be the most influential fashion designer of the 1940's and 1950's. It is noted that Dior products helped Paris to dominate world fashion at this time. One of the products that puts France ahead in the fashion industry is the luxury item of perfume. Christian Dior perfume is a global phenomenon.

Christian Dior combines fragrances to create perfumes sought after by men and women.

Creative perfumers mix fragrances to make the end product, the perfume itself. These fragrances can be from natural or synthetic sources. Synthetic perfumes were created by chemists at the end of the nineteenth century and are not classed as inferior to natural ones. Christian Dior uses extracts from plants and animals to produce its essences as a basis for their perfumes.

Mens fragrances are divided into four families.

  1. Citrus, such as bergamot,lemon, mandarin and the fruit leaf and flower of orange.

  2. Fougere, which are fragrances created around lavender, woody, mossy, coumarine,bergamot and geranium.

  3. Woody, composed of warm woody notes like sandalwood, vetiver, cedar or patchouli.

  4. Oriental, a traditional designation of sweet fragrances using balsam-ambery notes such as vanilla, benzoin, balsam from Peru, tonka bean and labdanum.

Dior perfume Higher described as an urban fragrance, uses fougere citrus and Dior perfume Eau Savage described as a fresh classic and elegant, uses aromatic citrus, these are selected as Christian Dior 'star products'.

Womens perfumes are also divided into four families of fragrances.

  1. Citrus, the zest of bergamot, lemon and mandarin.

  2. Floral, a fusion of multiple natural flowers giving the impression of a bouquet.

  3. Oriental, combining mysterious scents of the orient, spicy and ambery contrasting with fresh fruity and green notes.

  4. Chypre, a fragrance created by Francous Coty in 1917, the structure of which consists mainly of oakmoss, cistelabdanum, patchouli and bergamot.

Dior perfume J'Adore uses fruity floral and the perfume Dior Addict uses vanilla oriental, both selected as Christian Dior 'star products'.
