For naturally healthy skin use natural skin care products
Skin care treatment is all about
looking good and improving on what we naturally have. However, many of the
mainstream skin care products we use to make such improvements often contain
chemicals that end up damaging our skin more than improving it. This is where we
need natural skin care products.
What does 'natural' mean?
For skin care products 'natural'
means the product has been subject to very little or no processing and contains
no chemical or synthetic active ingredients. The benefit for the user, is that a
natural skin care product works, yet is safe with minimal risk of
skin rashes or
reactions.
The ingredients for many
skin
care products that carry the 'natural' label are obviously taken from nature.
Among the most well known are aloe vera, lanolin, lavender, olive oil and even
bicarbonate of soda. However, in recent years, scientists have discovered the
benefits to our skin of some of the more exotic sounding natural ingredients
like cocoa butter, shea butter from the African karate tree, coconut cream,
green tea extract, jojoba oil and kukui nut oil.
Some of the best skin care product contain retinol. While not
sounding very exotic it is a natural product. The big advantage with retinol is
that its molecular structure is small enough to enter into the lower layers of
the skin where it can reduce lines and wrinkles and improve skin tone and color
and skin texture. Hence it is found in many
anti wrinkle skin care products.
Another major ingredient in
naturally based skin care products is glycolic acid, which is an alpha-hydroxy
acid (AHA) found in sugar cane. In small doses it is an excellent moisturizer
and in larger quantities it has an exfoliating effect on the skin, removing dead
skin cells without the need for scrubbing.
The amount of natural products
available for skin care treatment seems only to be limited by mans lack of
knowledge and the more we discover, the more natural substances will become
mainstream. So if at the moment a natural skin care program seems hard to follow,
take heart, it is most certainly the skin care treatment of the future.
