Our hair never
seems to do what we want it to do,
except when we come out of the hairdressing salon. We shampoo it, and it still doesn't feel good. It's not shiny and silky. We comb it, and get stuck with
knots. We try to straighten it, and it curls. We curl
it, and it straightens. The solution? Adopt a regular hair care routine and........
Invest in some quality hair care products!
It's a fact, we are limited as to the control we have over our hair. The number of hair
follicles, the thickness of each strand, the way it curls or waves and our
hair color are all hereditary.
Hormones and our environment also affect the quality of our hair, so its understandable why getting a decent hairdo is so difficult.
The first step is to choose a hairstyle that suits our hair type and face shape. While there are an
infinite number of hairstyles, not all are suitable for all hair types and a certain hairstyle can highlight or diminish certain facial
features.
What is the right hair color for
you?
With so many
options on the market today, it can be hard to decide what hair color is right
for you. Often we see a celebrity with a certain hairstyle and color and want to
emulate that look on ourselves, but usually the results are less than
anticipated and we don’t know why. This is because there are many factors to
consider before altering your hair color to determine what will flatter your
face and what will not. Here is a list of guidelines to follow when thinking of
hair color ideas. Read more
Once we have chosen our haircut, we need to choose the right hair care product. Ensure the
shampoo and conditioner
suits our hair type. If we have greasy hair, we will need to remove the excess oils that clog up the follicles
in our scalp. As it will need to be washed frequently a natural, herb-based shampoo is ideal followed by a scalp massage with toning lotion.
If we have dry hair it is likely to be thin and coarse and will easily tangle, break and split ends. The objective here will be to
replenish the oils in the hair by regularly massaging the scalp with oil.
Add to this the wide range of treatments we can give our hair including
straightening, curling, dyeing, extensions - the options are almost endless. For
many though, the worry is not what to do with their hair but how to keep what
they have - hair loss affects over 50% of the
American population - and finding a treatment that works can be extremely
stressful.
