If you struggle with problem hair there is a shampoo that can solve it.

Our Recommended Shampoos

Shampoo has gone through major changes since it was first manufactured by John Beck in the nineteen thirties. Today it is not only designed to target just hair, but comes in many specific varieties to treat many different hair types and problems.

Four different ways of caring for hair.

Seborrheic dermatitis is the technical term for dandruff and although not contagious or serious, it can be embarrassing for the sufferer and uncomfortably itchy. Specially targeted to treat dandruff some hair shampoos contain salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, shampoopyrithione, selenium sulfide, and sulfur. Shampooing hair with these anti-dandruff shampoos such as Head and Shoulders, Selsun Blue or Dnorex is the best way to eliminate the problem.

Be careful of hair shampoos that merely label the bottle with the names of fragrances, this does not mean that they are a natural shampoo but that they only contain fragrance oils which often have no affect on the hair. Some manufacturers like Ginesis or Body Shop, add certified organic botanical ingredients or natural emulsifiers. This means that they do not contain sodium laurel/laureth sulfate or petroleum based chemicals. Shampooing hair with these products can improve hair structure, promote elasticity, moisturize hair and reduce static electricity.

Shampooing can also help to regrow damaged hair if the right product is used. Hair growth shampoo contains vital nutrients that promote faster healthier hair growth. Shampooing this way is designed to create a clean and healthy environment in order to encourage hair regrowth or new hair to grow and are aimed at men and women who suffer from hair loss.

Baby shampoo is made far milder than any used by adults. They are designed not to irritate baby's eyes and are said to be as gentle as pure water. They are usually soap free, alcohol free, hypoallergenic, and allergy and dermatologist tested. These hair shampoos come in different varieties. One of Johnson's popular makes contains lavender and chamomile claiming to be relaxing and calming for the baby.
